Not happy. Can't "slip in"

I can't "slip into" these shoes! .I bought these as work shoes as labeled. My hope was to be able to slip them on and off easily so I could go in and out of the house without tracking stuff into the house. They came with loose strings and no instructions as what to do with the laces. Presently, I am very disappointed with this purchase.
