What is going on

Received this one broken! First agent told me via chat to throw it and he/she will process a refund. Then few weeks later I received an email that I have to return it or I will be charged. Contacted cust support and told them what happened. They were asking me to return it but I told them what the previous agent said. Long story short she told me not to worry about it after contacting her supervisor and will not be charged. Then I got another email the other day that this item is still not returned and I will be charged. Like? Is it really resolved?! Whats going on?
